It’s time for warehouses
to clean up their act.
At least 1 in 4 Illinois residents live within half of a mile of a warehouse.
Illinois is the 2nd worst state in the nation in terms of cancer risk from diesel soot.
Black and Latino residents are up to 2x as likely to live within half of a mile of a mega- warehouse.
The Problem
683,000 daily truck trips to and from Illinois warehouses are inflicting asthma, cancer, and high healthcare costs on communities.
The Solution
The Warehouse Pollution Reduction Act gives warehouses common-sense air quality responsibilities, requiring the gradual use of cleaner trucks.
Who We Are
The Clear The Air Coalition is a group of environmental justice, public health, climate action, and labor organizations calling on Illinois legislators to act now.
